THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

2:08 AM

I have been waiting for this day for almost a year. It's the day when I get to watch The Fault In Our Stars. I read the book summer of 2013 and reread it again on e-book this summer. I've been watching interviews and looking at stills for this movie.

The three of us (Me, Julia and Jerem) went to Greenbelt to watch TFIOS even though it's more expensive than other theaters I have agreed to watch it there.

Whilst we wait for the movie, we went to get Green Tea flavored ice cream with Jerem's recommendation. Honestly, I thought his description of it was too good to be true but once I got to taste it, it was life-changing. It is now my favorite flavor of ice cream.

They also have this thing where you get to twirl your own ice cream. This was my first time so I kinda suck.

Just look at that lame twirl.

We also went to Powerbooks and wrote TFIOS related words on our hands for the extra Nerdfighters vibe.

Okay, so about the movie, I had quite high expectations about the movie. I paid quite a lot of attention to it and compared it to the book. The movie was a 4 out of 5.

Some of my expectations were:
-Hazel watching ANTM
-The Swedish rap
-Hectic Glow

I was quite disappointed with the movie because a lot of my expectations weren't met. 95% of the people I know cried during the movie but I didn't. I bawled my eyes out when I read the book twice. I kinda tried crying during the gas station scene but before my tears could fall the scene was over. Maybe because I was criticizing the movie too much that I didn't get to feel it that much but then again maybe they really did make the sad parts short so that it won't be such a drama.

What I did like about the movie was the funny parts like the night of the broken trophies scene and the egging scene. My favorite line was "It's always dark to Isaac." That was just hilarious.

There were scenes that I was taken aback by like the "love scene" and the limo scene. I was like "What?!" and "Whoa!"

But the essence of TFIOS was still there, the unforgettable quotes, Agustus Waters' charm and the jerk Peter Van Houten is.
