Warning: may or may not include spoilers

It’s a 2012 indie movie that I was just dying to see. I know that I was behind the bandwagon but at least I’ve seen it now! A lot of people had good reviews about it which just made me so psyched to see it.

It’s about a guy who stopped speaking since he was 10. He wasn’t deaf or mute he just doesn’t feel like speaking. The movie was about family, friends and love.

I love how he captures everything like he vlogs his life. I also love his relationship with Enid. I love how they’re both so into music which made it like their bridge towards each other. I love how he imagined his twin brother, he died when they were 10 and just the way he imagined his brother at their age was cool in a way, although it was quite questionable because in his flashbacks they were both wearing the same clothes and seeing his imaginary twin brother with a style personality was odd but I guess that’s how he imagined him.

I also think that some of the characters should’ve been portrayed better, like his little sister; she doesn’t look like to be still in that age to be excited about dolls. The actress for Enid was so good she had such a great voice and she portrayed the cool outgoing girl perfectly.

The part where his twin dies was kind of predictable, as soon as I saw the quick flashback I was like “I bet he’s going to fall off a cliff or something”. The irritating part was when Dawn couldn’t figure out which son is which. I mean they weren’t infants to be super identical they were 10 years old like what kind of mother doesn’t know how to differentiate her kids.

What also intrigues me was, he stopped talking to other people when he was 10 and when he finally talked he was 20 so his family members must’ve been baffled because his voice got pubertized I mean he went through the changes of puberty without talking so the time they heard him speak his voice was deep. That was just something that I realized.

Nevertheless, I liked the movie. It’s a great teen/young adult movie. The music from the movie is really great it gives such good vibes. Plus, Dominic Roco was insanely cute how he was so hipster and how he was all inlove while talking to his imaginary twin brother. It’s still a must see.
