LETRATISTA
10:27 AM
Our class had this final requirement
in our photography class which was to launch a photo exhibit presenting works
from different photo journalists who were either from our uni’s faculty or
alumni.
Our theme was Letratista: Lente at Anggulo.
It was supposed to be "Litratista", but we had a typo with the posters and
invitations so we just went along with it. We figured it would be a combination
between journalism and photography, letra + litratista. (Good save there)
I was placed with the events and
promotions committee, I was assigned with making the posters for the event.
I’m really proud of my work, I
really find making posters enjoying especially with the help of my trusty
photoshop.
The photographer we had a delight to
interview personally was Mr. KJ Rosales. He’s a photojournalist at Philippine
Star.
Here are some of his shots:
It was such a great experience to
look at raw photos from his laptop like they’re first hand photos before they
went and got published in the newspaper or on the internet. When photos get
published on the internet the source slowly becomes anonymous. He had a photo
he took himself of Ariana Grande at the airport when she came to the country.
My groupmates said that they saw that photo on the internet before and who knew
that we’ll be interviewing the guy who took that photo. I was just in awe all
throughout when we were viewing his photos.
Here are some of my favourite photos
from the exhibit.
